Mets' Justin Ruggiano (hamstring) to be activated Thursday

New York Mets outfielder Justin Ruggiano (hamstring) will be activated from the disabled list before Thursday night's game against the San Francisco Giants.

What It Means:

Finally, the banged-up Mets are getting healthy. In addition to Ruggiano returning, Yoenis Cespedes (quad) is expected back on Friday and Asdrubal Cabrera (knee) will also return at some point over the weekend. Ruggiano will provide the Mets will some outfield depth. He's had just 10 plate appearances in the majors this season, slashing .200/.200/.300.

Ruggiano has spent time with the Mets and Texas Rangers this season, with the majority of his time coming with the Rangers' Triple-A squad. He posted a .331 wOBA in 190 plate appearances with them. We don't project Ruggiano to see much playing time over the rest of the season and to hit just .182 with a .523 OPS.
