Tigers' Anibal Sanchez spins seven shutout frames, earns no-decision
Detroit Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez threw seven shutout innings while carrying a no-hitter into the seventh, but ended up getting handed a no-decision against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.
Sanchez' last eight games have all been starts, and he has been up and down, allowing four-plus earned runs in half of those outings, with only one win in that span.
Sanchez has an ugly 5.94 ERA on the season, with a 4.44 SIERA that marks his highest since 2009. He also owns a 21.03 percent strikeout rate and 9.18 percent walk rate through 119 2/3 innings.
