Twins' Kurt Suzuki clears waivers
Minnesota Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki has cleared waivers, according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Suzuki clearing waivers means he is now able to be traded to any club. The 37 year-old veteran is slashing .283/.323/.435 with six taters in 289 plate appearances this year. Suzuki, who will be a free agent after this season, has around $1.54 million left on his contract. It's possible that he garners interest from contending teams.
Suzuki's .326 wOBA this year ranks seventh-best among catchers with at least 250 plate appearances. We project him to hit two more taters and post a .653 OPS over the remaining course of the season.
