Nationals' Joe Ross (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session this week
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Joe Ross (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session while the team is on the road this week, manager Dusty Baker said Monday.
Ross was on a minor league rehab stint earlier this month, but was deactivated from it due to renewed soreness in his right shoulder. He's ramping things up again, and the bullpen session will inform the Nationals' next step with him. Ross has been sidelined since July 2.
Ross' 3.89 xFIP is slightly higher than his ERA and his 19.75 strikeout percentage is just below league average (21.00 percent). We project him to record a 4.32 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP over the remaining course of the season.
