Mets' Jose Reyes (intercostal) to begin rehab Thursday
New York Mets infielder Jose Reyes (intercostal) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Thursday with Low-A Brooklyn.
This is only two days later than what the Mets initially estimated, so Reyes apparently didn't suffer a serious setback. He will likely play in three-to-four games in the minors before rejoining the club early next week. Reyes has been on the disabled list since July 27, retroactively. He's slashing .239/.278/.493 in 72 plate appearances this season.
Reyes owns a .321 wOBA this year, to go with three home runs and three stolen bases. We project him to hit .244 with a .706 OPS over the rest of the season.
