Angels place Huston Street (knee) on the disabled list
Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Huston Street has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with knee inflammation.
Street blew his third save of the year Sunday, surrendering five runs against the Boston Red Sox. The Angels traded away Joe Smith to the Chicago Cubs at the trade deadline, so Cam Bedrosian (0.93 ERA) may be responsible for closing duties while Street is sidelined. Manager Mike Scioscia stated he'll use a committee at first.
Street has been awful this season, recording a 6.45 ERA, 1.93 WHIP, 13.33 percent strikeout rate and 11.43 percent walk rate through 22 1/3 innings, all of which are career-worsts. Our numbers do have things turning around a bit, and we project him for a 3.99 ERA and 22.73 percent strikeout rate across 15 2/3 frames over the remainder of the season.
