Zack Cozart scratched by Reds Tuesday with bruised finger

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart was scratched from the lineup Tuesday due to a bruised right ring finger.

What It Means:

Cozart should be considered day-to-day for now. The Reds will start Ivan DeJesus Jr. at shortstop and he will bat second against the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Adam Wainwright.

After hitting .360 (79 plate appearances) to open the season, Cozart hit .243 (325 plate appearances) from May through July, but a .779 overall OPS has helped maintain his value. Despite the regression from April, Cozart owns a .196 ISO (compared to a .141 career-average) and has already matched his career-high with 15 jacks this season.
