Rangers option Joey Gallo to Triple-A
Texas Rangers infielder/outfielder Joey Gallo has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
With the Monday arrivals of Jonathan Lucroy and Carlos Beltran, Gallo was left as the odd man out looking in on the active roster. Solid production in the minors will put him in good position to earn his way back to the big leagues.
Gallo has flexed some solid power during his short time in the majors, hitting .187/.281/.398 with a .211 ISO in 139 plate appearances during this season and last. The 22-year-old also owns a 45.60 percent hard-hit rate, as well as an ugly 47.48 percent strikeout rate.
