Austin Slater riding pine for Giants Thursday
The San Francisco Giants did not include Austin Slater in their lineup for Thursday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
Slater will take a seat on the bench today as the Giants have Mike Yastrzemski cover right field and bat seventh against right-hander Ryne Nelson.
Slater is off to a rough start, batting just .133 across 19 plate appearances. Hopefully the day off will help the veteran refocus as the season kicks into full gear.
