Kerry Carpenter on Detroit bench Tuesday afternoon
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter is not in the lineup for Monday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Martin Perez and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
What It Means:
The left-handed hitting Carpenter will take a seat against a lefty starter. Jake Rogers will take over at designated hitter, while Carson Kelly will catch for Casey Mize and bat seventh. Spencer Torkelson will step into the cleanup spot and Riley Greene will hit third.
