Nick Fortes on Marlins bench Thursday
Miami Marlins catcher Nick Fortes is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Lance Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals.
What It Means:
Fortes started the past two games behind the plate, but Christian Bethancourt will catch for Ryan Weathers and bat ninth on Thursday. The Marlins have been splitting work evenly between the two catchers so far this season.
