Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Rowdy Tellez is not in the lineup for Monday afternoon's series opener against left-hander MacKenzie Gore and the Washington Nationals.

The left-handed hitting Tellez started against a lefty on Sunday and went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run and 3 strikeouts. Connor Joe will shift to first base in place of Tellez on Monday.
