Reds' Matt McLain dealing with aggravated oblique

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Matt McLain (oblique) is expected to miss the next 5 to 7 days of Spring Training.

What It Means:

McLain reportedly aggravated his oblique while taking swings. McLain missed time last season with an oblique injury, but this week's injury was not in the "exact same spot". McLain's MRI was clean, but he will "back down" for five to seven days. Expect more information next week.

In 403 plate appearances as a rookie last season, McLain recorded 16 homers, 65 runs, 50 RBI and a 0.290 batting average with a 0.864 OPS.
