Braves set rotation for weekend series versus Rockies
The Atlanta Braves rotation is set for this weekend's series against the Colorado Rockies, with Lucas Harrell (Friday), Mike Foltynewicz (Saturday) and Julio Teheran (Sunday) all scheduled to start.
Atlanta had to wait and see if Teheran pitched in Tuesday's All-Star Game prior to officially deciding on the order of their rotation. Since Teheran did pitch on Tuesday -- throwing a scoreless inning -- the Braves won't start him and his 2.96 ERA (16th best) until Sunday.
Teheran's 4.10 xFIP is significantly higher than his ERA, suggesting he's had some luck on his side this season, and his 22.81 strikeout percentage is above the league average of 21.00 percent. Our models project Teheran to record a 3.55 ERA and an 18.60 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the year.
