Dodgers' Hyun-jin Ryu struggles in season debut

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu had a brutal start to his season on Thursday, giving up six runs over 4 2/3 innings as the San Diego Padres bested the Dodgers 6-0.

What It Means:

After missing all of the 2015 season with injury, this wasn't quite the return Dodgers fans were hoping for, and he gave up eight hits on the way to those six runs.

Ryu's 2014 season was very encouraging, as he posted a 3.17 SIERA and 22.0 percent strikeout rate, but our numbers are not high on him this year. We currently forecast him for a 4.14 ERA and 14.8 percent strikeout rate over the remainder of the season.
