Freddy Galvis slugs go-ahead two-run shot for Phillies

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Freddy Galvis hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday as the Phillies topped the Atlanta Braves 4-3.

What It Means:

Atlanta went ahead 3-2 in the top of the eighth, but the Phillies immediately responded with Galvis' two-out, two-run tater. The home run was the eighth for Galvis this season, but he's struggled to a slash of .221/.250/.359 in 334 plate appearances.

Galvis now owns a .259 wOBA, which is fifth-worst among qualified hitters. We project him to hit .237/.278/.331 with three home runs and a .264 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
