Daniel Norris turns in solid outing for Tigers
Detroit Tigers pitcher Daniel Norris pitched relatively well in Wednesday's victory over the Miami Marlins, fanning eight batters and allowing two scores over five frames.
Norris was hit eight times on the day, but he avoided significant damage on the scoreboard. The two runs both occurred in the second inning, coming in the form of a RBI triple by Adeiny Hechavarria, who was then brought home by an Ichiro Suzuki single. The 23-year-old lefty certainly didn't hurt his chances of earning another date on the mound, but we'll see if the Tigers send him out there again.
This was the first victory of the season for Norris, who now has a 4.09 ERA across 11 innings of work in the big leagues this year. He's surrendered a total of five runs on 14 hits and is striking out 10.64 batters per nine frames.
