Mitch Garver absent for Rangers in Wild Card opener
Texas Rangers designated hitter/catcher Mitch Garver is not in the lineup for Game 1 of the Wild Card Round against right-hander Tyler Glasnow and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Garver will begin the playoffs on the bench while Robbie Grossman starts at DH and Jonah Heim catches for Jordan Montgomery.
