Mike Tauchman taking seat for Cubs Wednesday afternoon
Chicago Cubs outfielder Mike Tauchman is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Tarik Skubal and the Detroit Tigers.
What It Means:
The Tigers are sending a southpaw to the mound, so the Cubs are holding the left-handed hitting Tauchman out of the order. Cody Bellinger will cover center field and Nico Hoerner will move into the leadoff role. Jeimer Candelario will be on first base and Nick Madrigal will man the hot corner. Dansby Swanson will work out of the two-hole.
