Cubs place Dexter Fowler (hamstring) on 15-day disabled list

Chicago Cubs outfielder Dexter Fowler was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 19, with right hamstring discomfort.

What It Means:

Fowler left Saturday's game with discomfort in his right hamstring and hasn't played since. After receiving an MRI on Sunday, the Cubs have made the decision to give Fowler an extended break. Albert Almora Jr. will hit eighth while replacing him in center field.

Fowler is having a fantastic season, slashing .290/.398/.483 with a .381 wOBA. He has seven homers, 28 RBI's, and 41 runs scored over 284 plate appearances.
