Mariners' Cade Marlowe sitting Tuesday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Cade Marlowe is not in the lineup on Tuesday against right-hander Jordan Lyles and the Kansas City Royals.

What It Means:

Teoscar Hernandez will return to right field and bat fifth while Dominic Canzone moves to left field in place of Marlowe and hits sixth. Marlowe started the past two games and went 0-for-5 with a walk and 4 strikeouts.

Hernandez is one of numberFire’s top point-per-dollar values among outfielders on Tuesday. He has a $2,600 salary and our models project him for 12.1 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Mariners' implied total is 5.07 and the game total is 9.5. Lyles has a 4.95 xERA behind his 6.13 ERA, but it still ranks in the bottom 20th percentile of the majors this season. His 16.4% strikeout rate is in the bottom 10th percentile.
