Mike Tauchman taking seat in Cubs' Friday matinee
Chicago Cubs outfielder Mike Tauchman is not in the lineup for Friday afternoon's series opener against left-hander Max Fried and the Atlanta Braves.
The left-handed hitting Tauchman will sit versus the Braves' southpaw. Seiya Suzuki will take over in right field and hit sixth, with Ian Happ in left and Cody Bellinger in center.
Suzuki has a $6,500 salary on the single-game slate Friday afternoon and numberFire’s models project him for 9.1 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs' implied total is only 3.79 while the game total is 8.5. Fried will be making his first start since early May after being activated from the 60-day injured list on Friday. Prior to landing on the shelf, Fried registered a 2.08 ERA and 2.39 xERA across five starts for the Braves, with a 29.2% hard-hit rate, 24.3% strikeout rate, and 5.8% walk rate.
