Tigers' Cameron Maybin sitting again Thursday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Cameron Maybin is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Kansas City Royals.
Justin Upton, who usually plays left field for Detroit, will start in center field, while Mike Aviles gets the nod in left field. Thursday's absence will be the second time in three games that Maybin has sat out. It's possible that the missed games are related to a wrist injury his suffered earlier this season and cost him six weeks on the shelf. When healthy, Maybin has been a solid contributor, batting .364 with six steals across 27 games this season.
Maybin's overall slash is .364/.422/.414 with one home run and a .371 wOBA in 110 plate appearances in 2016. Our models currently project him to hit .262/.319/.354 with two home runs, seven steals, and a .296 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
