Rangers activate Robinson Chirinos off the disabled list
Texas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos has been activated from the 60-day disabled list.
Chirinos will be available off the bench Thursday afternoon against the Houston Astros, with Bryan Holaday starting at catcher and batting ninth. Chirinos missed nearly two full months with a fractured right forearm and is expected to be eased into action. Texas will carry three catchers (Chirinos, Holaday and Bobby Wilson) for now.
Chirinos has just 16 plate appearances this season, slashing .267/.313/.600 with one home run and a .386 wOBA.
