Phillies put Darick Hall (thumb) on injured list

The Philadelphia Phillies placed infielder Darick Hall on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to April 6, with a right thumb sprain.

What It Means:

Hall will undergo thumb surgery and is expected to miss multiple months. The Phillies recalled infielder/outfielder Kody Clemens from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding roster move. Clemens will replace Hall on first base and bat eighth versus right-hander Hunter Greene and the Cincinnati Reds in Friday afternoon's series opener. Alec Bohm figures to see more work at first base while Hall is on the shelf. Edmundo Sosa and Josh Harrison also stand to benefit from more playing time.

numberFire’s models project Clemens ($2,000) for 7.8 FanDuel points on Friday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Phillies' implied total is 4.29 and the game total is 7.5.
