Mets' David Wright (neck) dealing with herniated disk

New York Mets third baseman David Wright said Monday that he is dealing with a herniated disk in his neck.

What It Means:

Wright has now missed three straight games with the neck issue and appears likely to hit the disabled list. More should be known about his status on Tuesday, but the Mets will likely use a combination of Wilmer Flores and Ty Kelly at third base for now.

Wright is slashing .226/.350/.438 with seven home runs, 14 RBI's and three stolen bases, to go with a .345 wOBA in 164 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to hit .254/.351/.406 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI's, six steals and a .330 wOBA in 366 plate appearances over the remaining course of the season.
