Mark Teixeira has neck flareup, sitting Wednesday for New York
New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays with renewed neck discomfort.
He has three homers in nine career at-bats against the Blue Jays' starter, Marco Estrada, so it's a big absence. Teixeira is considered day-to-day for now.
Teixeira has had a poor start to the season, slashing only .195/.294/.282 with 3 home runs and a .265 wOBA in 170 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .235/.338/.423 with 15 home runs and a .333 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
