Jorge Soler sitting for Cubs Wednesday after big Tuesday
Chicago Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler is out of the starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Soler slugged a two-run homer as part of a three-RBI performance on Tuesday night in St. Louis, but he'll be on the bench at the opening of Wednesday's matinee. Kris Bryant is starting in left field and batting third and Tommy La Stella is starting at third base and batting sixth versus Cardinals right-hander Carlos Martinez. Bryant makes for a decent DFS play for the Wednesday slate.
Soler has gotten off to a slow start, posting a .294 wOBA and 24.0 percent strikeout rate in 125 plate appearances. However, his 11.2 percent walk rate is a career high, and he's sporting a solid .150 ISO. Soler has also picked up seven hits -- including a pair of homers -- over his last 21 at-bats. Our models currently project him to record a .243/.325/.392 slash and .313 wOBA with eight jacks and 32 RBI's in 289 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
