Rays' Kevin Kiermaier lands on disabled list
The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Kevin Kiermaier on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left hand.
Kiermaier broke his hand while attempting a diving catch in the outfield on Saturday. Although a timetable has yet to be set, he is seeing a specialist on Monday, which should give the team a better idea of how long he'll be out. Desmond Jennings is expected to receive more playing time while Kiermaier is on the mend.
Kiermaier was slashing .236/.307/.447 through 123 at bats before getting hurt. He has five home runs and 16 RBIs on the year.
