Brewers' Ryan Braun (back) remains out of lineup Friday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun (back) remained out of the starting lineup Friday against the New York Mets.
Braun hasn't played since Tuesday due to nagging lower-back stiffness. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel says that manager Craig Counsell indicated Thursday that Braun might not play all weekend. The Brewers are using an outfield of Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Keon Broxton, and Alex Presley against Steven Matz and the Mets.
Braun is having a great start to the season, slashing .364/.429/.576 with seven home runs, 28 RBI's, and a .427 wOBA in 147 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .286/.360/.495 with 18 home runs, 13 steals, 62 RBI's, and a .366 wOBA over the remaining course of the year.
