Miguel Montero reaches bag three times in Cubs' matinee
Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Montero went 2-for-3 with a triple and walk against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
The triple was his first since 2012 and seventh in 3,422 career at-bats. Montero is hitting just .207 on the year, but he has walked 12 times in 18 games. Since his back seems to be holding up fine, the Cubs could shed third catcher Tim Federowicz soon.
Entering today's contest, our models projected Montero to post a .309 wOBA with nine homers and 35 RBI's over the remainder of the year while recording a .235/.325/.383 slash in 318 plate appearances.
