Dustin Pedroia out as Boston takes on Kansas City again Wednesday
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Kansas City Royals.
Pedroia went 1-for-3 with a double in the 3-2 loss in the opener. He will have the evening off, with Josh Rutledge taking over at second and batting sixth for the second half of the doubleheader.
Pedroia has appeared at the plate 173 times this season, recording a .298/.347/.472 slash while posting a .360 wOBA with six jacks and 20 RBI's. He has also stolen two bases, and we project him to swipe seven more over the remainder of the season.
