David Ortiz absent from Red Sox lineup on Sunday
Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is not in the starting lineup on Sunday.
Ortiz is simply getting Sunday off. Hanley Ramirez is serving as the team's DH, while Travis Shaw is playing first base and Josh Rutledge is paling third base.
Ortiz may be retiring after this season, but the 40 year-old is having a career year. He is slashing .320/.405/.695, with a wOBA of .453, which would be a career high. He has 10 homers and 33 RBIs through only 128 at bats.
