Seattle's Mitch Haniger (back) sitting versus San Diego Tuesday
The Seattle Mariners did not list Mitch Haniger (back) in their lineup for Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres.
Haniger is dealing with lower back tightness and won't suit up for Tuesday's game against the Padres, but it remains to be seen just how serious the injury truly is. Sam Haggerty will cover right field, Jesse Winker will start in left, Carlos Santana will take over at designated hitter, and Ty France (hand) will make his return to the lineup at first base. France is listed second in the Mariners' batting order.
Haniger has struggled to stay healthy this season, making just 177 plate appearances so far. He's batting .233 with a .687 OPS and has 7 homers, 19 runs, and 23 RBI.
