Royals trade Whit Merrifield to Blue Jays
Former Kansas City Royals infielder/outfielder Whit Merrifield has been scratched from Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Merrifield has been traded to the Toronto Blue Jays and will not be available for Tuesday's clash with Chicago. The Blue Jays are sending Samad Taylor and Max Castillo to Kansas City in the deal.
Merrifield is batting 0.240 this season with 51 runs, 6 homers, 42 RBI, and 15 stolen bases in 420 plate appearances.
