Stephen Drew serving as Nationals' DH Monday against Kansas City
Washington Nationals infielder Stephen Drew will serve as the designated hitter Monday versus the Kansas City Royals.
Nationals manager Dusty Baker said he's going with Drew because of his success against Edinson Volquez in the past. That success? 4-for-11 with four singles and a walk. Baker plans to rotate the DH spot for the rest of the series, with Jayson Werth and Ryan Zimmerman also seeing time there.
Drew is just 3-for-24 on the year (.125/.160/.250) with a .182 wOBA. He has one homer this season, which is his lone extra-base hit.
