Joaquin Benoit (shoulder) placed on Mariners' 15-day DL
Seattle Mariners right-handed pitcher Joaquin Benoit was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 22, with right shoulder inflammation.
Benoit has been dealing with discomfort in the area, so he'll get some extended rest. The Mariners have called up Mayckol Guaipe to take his place in the bullpen.
Benoit has earned one win on the year across five innings of work, recording a 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 19.05 strikeout percentage.
