J.D. Martinez scratched for Red Sox on Sunday; Christian Arroyo enters
Boston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez has been removed from the lineup Sunday in the team's game against the Seattle Mariners.
No reason has been given for the change. But just minutes before scheduled first pitch, Martinez has been removed from the starting lineup. Christian Arroyo will now serve as the designated hitter instead.
In 141 plate appearances this season, Martinez has a .349 batting average with a .971 OPS, 5 home runs, 20 runs and 20 RBI.
