Cooper Hummel absent from Arizona lineup Monday night
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Cooper Hummel is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Tony Gonsolin and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Hummel was in the lineup against a southpaw on Sunday, but the Diamondbacks are holding him out against a right-hander for the fourth straight time on Monday. David Peralta is replacing Hummel in left field and hitting sixth while Daulton Varsho moves up into the leadoff spot.
numberFire’s models project Varsho for 10.8 FanDuel points on Monday, and he has a $2,900 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Diamondbacks have the fourth-lowest implied total (3.47) in the majors on Monday.
