Reds RHP Luis Castillo (shoulder) expected to begin 2022 season on IL
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo (shoulder soreness) is expected to begin the 2022 season on the injured list.
Castillo's preseason preparation was slowed by shoulder soreness, so he hasn't yet quite had time to work himself back up into game shape. He has not suffered any reported set backs and is expected to return to the mound shortly after the start of the season.
Our models project Castillo to win 11 games to 10 losses in Cincinnati this year, with 187 strikeouts and a 3.88 ERA in 176.1 innings pitched.
