Rangers' Robinson Chirinos has fractured forearm

X-rays have revealed that Texas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos suffered a fractured right forearm when he was hit by a pitch on Saturday.

What It Means:

He's expected to miss at least a month of action. It's a tough break for the Rangers, as they already acquired Bryan Holaday prior to Opening Day because they were nervous about their catching depth. Holaday will take over as the starter, while Brett Nicholas is expected to be called up to serve as the backup.

We project Chirinos to deliver 285 plate appearances this season, with a .225/.310/.403 slash line and 10 home runs.
