Ji-Man Choi on Tampa Bay's bench Thursday for ALDS Game 1
Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the ALDS on Thursday versus left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez and the Boston Red Sox.
Jordan Luplow is starting over Choi on first base against the Red Sox's southpaw. Luplow is hitting sixth. This is the fifth time that the Rays are facing Rodriguez this season. The last time they faced him in September, Tampa Bay smacked Rodriguez around for six earned runs and two dingers in just 3 2/3 innings.
Luplow is numberFire's top point-per-dollar play among hitters on Thursday, as he has a $2,000 salary and our models project him to score 9.6 FanDuel points. Boston's bullpen had just the 17th-best xFIP in September.
