Matt Vierling moving to Phillies' bench Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Matt Vierling is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series opener against right-hander Connor Overton and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Overton is registering a 21.4 strikeout percentage and a 7.1 walk percentage through his first 11 2/3 innings in the majors.
