Jake Bauers on Mariners' bench Wednesday night
Seattle Mariners first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against left-hander Cole Irvin and the Oakland Athletics.
Bauers is returning to the bench while Mitch Haniger moves to right field and the third spot in the order. Luis Torrens is serving as Seattle's designated hitter and batting fifth.

Irvin is registering a 15.9% strikeout rate that ranks in the bottom 6% of the league this season, with a 5.0% walk rate that ranks in the top 6%.
