Buster Posey behind Giants' plate Friday afternoon
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey is in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against right-hander Kyle Hendricks and the Chicago Cubs.
Posey was held out of the previous lineup, but he is replacing Curt Casali at catcher and hitting third Friday afternoon. LaMonte Wade Jr is dropping down a spot to bat cleanup and Brandon Crawford is moving into the six-hole.
numberFire’s models project Casali for 7.3 FanDuel points and he has a $2,500 salary on Friday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Giants have an implied total of 5.1 runs. Hendricks is registering a 16.9 strikeout percentage (bottom 9% of the league) and a 5.5 walk percentage this season, with a 4.96 xERA and a .337 xwOBA.
