Red Sox's Jarren Duran sitting Thursday versus Tigers
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Tarik Skubal and the Detroit Tigers.
Duran hit the second home run of his young career on Wednesday, but the rookie is taking a seat against the Tigers' southpaw on Thursday afternoon. Enrique Hernandez is moving over to center field in place of Duran and Rafael Devers is hitting second. Devers is followed in the order by J.D. Martinez and then Xander Bogaerts. Marwin Gonzalez is returning to the lineup to hit ninth and play second base.
numberFire’s models project Hernandez for 14.3 FanDuel points and he has a $3,300 salary on Thursday. Devers ($4,300) is projected for 12.9 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Red Sox have an implied total of 5.3 runs and the over/under for the game is the highest total on Thursday's slate. Skubal is registering a 25.8 strikeout percentage with an 8.6 walk percentage this season. His xSLG (.504) ranks in the bottom five percent of the league, while his xERA (5.87) and xwOBA (.364) both rank in the bottom eighth percentile.
