Tom Murphy on Mariners' bench Thursday afternoon
Seattle Mariners catcher Tom Murphy is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Murphy is grabbing a seat after starting the last three games, including at designated hitter on Wednesday. Luis Torrens will make another start behind the plate on Thursday and Mitch Haniger will resume DH duties for Seattle. Jake Bauers will be in right field and hit fifth, with Shed Long entering the lineup in left and batting seventh.
numberFire’s models project Haniger for 12.8 FanDuel points and he has a $3,000 salary on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Mariners have an implied total of 4.1 runs. Ryu is registering a 20.0 strikeout percentage with a 5.3 walk percentage this season.
