Carlos Martinez (ankle) returning to Cardinals' mound Friday
The St. Louis Cardinals activated right-handed pitcher Carlos Martinez from the 10-day injured list for a right ankle sprain.
Martinez will start on Friday against the Chicago Cubs after missing almost two weeks. He pitched through the ankle sprain in his last outing and raised his ERA from 3.72 to 4.35 for the season. The right-hander had only allowed two runs over 21 1/3 innings in his three starts before that.
numberFire’s models project Martinez for 23.4 FanDuel points over five-plus innings versus the Cubs and he has a $4,500 salary on Friday's slate.
