Jeff McNeil on second base for Marlins Thursday
New York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil will start in Thursday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Nick Neidert and the Miami Marlins.
McNeil was held out of Wednesday's lineup after going hitless in the Mets' first two games. He will man second base and bat seventh on Thursday in hopes of picking up his first hit of the 2021 season. Jonathan Villar will take over on third base for Luis Guillorme as J.D. Davis (hand) remains out.
numberFire’s models project McNeil for 10.7 FanDuel points versus the Marlins and he has a salary of $2,500 on Thursday. Neidert spun a 2.84 ERA with 15 strikeouts and 3 walks in 12 2/3 innings of Grapefruit League play.
