Eric Hosmer hitting third for Padres in Wild Card opener Wednesday
San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer will hit third in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round on Wednesday versus left-hander Kwang Hyun Kim.
Hosmer will replace Mitch Moreland on first base and bat third after sitting out the Padres' regular-season finale. He hit .287/.333/.517 with 9 homers and 36 RBI over 156 plate appearances.
